ALAM FLORA NAMED MALAYSIA WASTE MANAGEMENT COMPANY OF THE YEAR BY FROST & SULLIVAN

Singapore, 15 November 2019 – Alam Flora Sdn Bhd (Alam Flora), one of the country’s leading solid waste management company in the country, has been awarded the BEST PRACTICES AWARDS 2019 MALAYSIA WASTE MANAGEMENT COMPANY OF THE YEAR” (ASIA PACIFIC) of the Year 2019, by global research and consulting firm, Frost and Sullivan.
The first waste management company from Malaysia to be conferred the prestigious award, Alam Flora currently manages the waste management and public cleansing services in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Pahang,

“Alam Flora has been present in Malaysia since 1995 and the win is indeed a testament to the quality of services we provided as we continue to strive, to push the benchmark of the country’s waste management even higher. This year marks the eighth year of the full privatisation of the solid waste management in the country and Alam Flora is indeed proud to be part of it and continue to remain steadfast in its pursuit of putting the solid waste management industry on-par with leading nations,” said Dato Mohd Zain Hassan, Chief Executive Officer of Alam Flora.
Mohd Zain further explained that the company will continue to invest in the best and eco-friendly equipment to mechanise and automate its operations. Through its subsidiary, DRB HICOM Environmental Services (DHES), it will further make inroads into the sustainable development segment, including waste treatment and recovery.

He said this after receiving the prestigious award at the Award Presentation ceremony held on November 14, 2019 at the St Regis Hotel, Singapore.
The win further envisions the company aim to become a holistic waste management solutions provider a smart waste management partner to the government. It is technically equipped to be a partner to the government to achieve its goals of increasing the nation’s recyclable rate to 30% and reducing the solid waste management industry’s carbon footprint by 40% by 2020.
