Kuala Lumpur, 9 July 2020 – For the second consecutive year, Alam Flora Sdn Bhd (Alam Flora), one of the country’s leading solid waste management company in the country, has been awarded the BEST PRACTICES AWARDS MALAYSIA WASTE MANAGEMENT COMPANY OF THE YEAR” (ASIA PACIFIC), by renown global research and consulting firm, Frost and Sullivan.

Alam Flora was the first waste management company from Malaysia to be conferred such a prestigious award in 2019 and it has further raised the benchmark, by winning it for the second time this year. Alam Flora currently manages the solid waste management and public cleansing services in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Pahang.

Receiving the award, also for the second time, was its Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Mohd Zain Hassan, through a live virtual ceremony held consecutively recently, over five continents.

“The win is indeed a testament to the quality of service provided by Alam Flora as we continue to strive, to push the waste management industry’s quality benchmark even higher. This year marks the nine year of the full-privatisation of the solid waste management in the country and Alam Flora is indeed proud to play an integral part in it.

“We shall continue with our pursuit of putting the country’s solid waste management industry to be on-par with other leading nations,” said Dato Mohd Zain.

Meanwhile the Vice President Asia-Pacific at Frost & Sullivan, Sapan Agarwal, said that the best practice awards are aimed at motivating firms to continue pushing the boundaries of excellence year after year.

The award recipients were identified using Frost & Sullivan’s proprietary, measurement- based methodology derived from extensive primary and secondary research, in-depth interviews, analysis, and industry benchmarking. A detailed study was further conducted on each of the nominated companies, focusing on real-time performance indicators like market share, revenue growth, customer acquisitions, product/service value, and technology innovation.
